Amazon.com Despite an irritating, tacked-on voice-over narration that somebody must have thought was necessary to make sense of the story (it wasn't), iLast of the Dogmen/i is actually a very moving and magical film. Tom Berenger plays a Montana bounty hunter who helps an anthropologist (Barbara Hershey) search for the descendants of a Cheyenne tribe who disappeared in the 1870s. What the two find in a remote mountain stretch is an entire community of Cheyenne who have kept themselves cut off from the modern world. A IDances with Wolves/i parallel emerges as the white outsiders gradually fit in, but iLast of the Dogmen/i stands up just fine without comparison to any other films. As in Kevin Costner's Oscar-winning movie, however, there are ways in which this film captures a similar sense of yearning, mystery, and loss. I--Tom Keogh/I

UnPlayable August 20, 2010 Leonard Brazille Due to the european formatting, I was unable to play Last of the Dogmen. I think Amazon should have placed some sort of warning about this different formatting.
great movie August 3, 2010 Daniel P. Donohue Jr. (Klamath Falls, Oregon) Last of the Dogmen is a fabulous story of innocence about to be destroyed by the discovery of these long forgotten tribe of American Indians hidden in a valley. Befriended by white men, their demise is imminent, until the hero of the story blows up the entrance to their valley, allowing them to once again remain seperated from the modern world. A Showtime presentation, this movie is out of print and highly collectable.
The movie is a classic. July 7, 2010 Glen R. Dunwoody (Fredericksburg, VA) I am happy to have a DVD edition of one of my favorite movies. Legitimate copies are hard to find and the service was excellent.

Searched for movie all over the place. Eventually purchased from a foreign country. The dvd was incompatible with my player and had to send it back; I just hope I will receive a credit for the purchase. I will continue looking for a reasonably priced product from the USA.
