Does not do what it says Damaged my TV September 9, 2010 Christopher Carpenter (Viriginia Beach, VA United States) I have bought tons of stuff from Amazon over the years and this is the first DUD I have ever gotten, I RECOMMEND BUYING SOMETHING ELSE if youre trying to connect your PC to your TV. My experience: OK, before I begin let me state that I know how to use component connections (Red Green Blue) versus standard Yellow (Video). I ordered this product to connect a PC to a Magnavox 32MF339B/F7 LCD Tv. The TV currently had a DVD which is using component cables so I know the jacks work properly. I connect this adapter and PC and TV, start 'er up and .... nothing. No picture, no lines, nothing but audio (from the sepearate audio cable I used.) I disconnect and reconnect, reboot. Still nothing. OK, maybe the cable was a dud. (it was very cheap, obviously) so I plug my DVD player back up and guess what? The R/G/B input is now fried. The DVD player now doesn't feed video to the set. So now Im stuck using the good old yellow/red/white video in to watch video on my TV. Thanks Amazon for selling me this complete piece of crap that screwed up a good TV. Lesson learned: "Don't buy cheap junk."
Works for Set-top box to Flat Panel TV September 3, 2010 Greg Humes I purchased this cable to go 1)from my Verizon FiOS cable box component outputs to the VGA input on my SONY Plasma flat panel tv, and 2)from my dvd player component out to tv VGA input. It works well and as another reviewer mentioned, there is improvement over the S-Video cable performance. Shipping was fast and the cable is well made sturdy (though not as hefty as some 'premium' cables like this I bought in the past for much, much more money). I would definitely recommend these cables for this use.
No good September 1, 2010 Customer1 this cable DOES NOT i repeat DOES NOT work for hooking your computer up to your television, do not let the word component in the title fool you as it did me.
A simple solution August 30, 2010 P. Dahlheimer (Rick City, MD) It's easy: the component ends leave your DVD player, and the VGA end goes into the monitor. The picture through the cables looks good and a monkey could connect this.
