Product Description Watching all your favorite DVDs is made better and easier with Component Video Input, optimizing the digital picture quality. With Incredible Surround and 10 watt audio power be ready for an immersing home cinema experience.
Amazon.com Product Description You can't go wrong with a set this well made, this classy, and this affordable. Philips' commanding 27-inch 27PT6441 uses a RealFlat picture tube for high-contrast, reflection-free pictures with no curvature, edge to edge. It's also loaded with convenient connections and terrific features like Philips' QuadraSurf remote control, which lets you personalize and customize your channel surfing and TV viewing by family member or program theme.P Active Control Plus continuously analyzes incoming signals and optimizes picture color, sharpness, contrast, and digital noise reduction 50 times per second, and an ambient light sensor adjusts settings according to the viewing conditions in your room. Further refining an already stellar image is the 27PT6441's 2-line digital comb filter removes blurred edges between colors and reduces dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt).P A component-video input grants optimum connection with a compatible DVD player, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate most other audio/video gear, from DVD players to satellite receivers, digital video recorders, video game consoles, cable boxes, and VCRs. You can choose between rear A/V inputs and a set of side A/V inputs for spontaneous hookups, including a side-panel headphone jack for private listening.P Other 27PT6441 features include a sleep and event timer, AutoPicture (which optimizes brightness, contrast, color, tint, and sharpness), and AutoSound (which lets you select settings for voice, music, movies, or custom). Incredible Surround simulates surround sound from the set's 2 speakers, while bass and treble controls let you adjust the sound to your taste.p bWhat's in the Box/bbr TV, remote control, remote batteries, user's manual.

Four Years And Still Going Strong!!! November 25, 2009 Rockstar Romeraux (Baker,Louisiana) We purchased this television about four years ago, when I just about first started middle school, now im a freshman in High School and this television is still going strong!! Picture quality is still like it was when we first bought it, and the sound is still incredible. I guess we're part of the very few people who didn't have any problems with this model. 4/5.
Piece of Junk September 9, 2009 Greg F. Grugnael (Boston, MA) Like the others, I too have had the blown fuse problem; however, I consider myself lucky as I have had the set for a couple of years. As others indicated, the repair is very easy (but one should be careful as the capacitor can hold a charge even when unplugged). The fuse cost $0.75 and the repair literally took me 5 minutes. Radio Shack has changed some of the part numbers, so be sure to bring in the old fuse to compare to the new ones. Each package contains 4 fuses so you can keep this hunk of junk running for a while.

5 years going strong October 28, 2008 Matt Z (New Jersey) I know this TV is no longer for sale, but I figured I'd add my two cents about my experience with it.

br /I bought this TV in November 2003, nearly 5 years ago. In that time, I have never had a single problem with it. I've had cable TV, a DVD player, a Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, and Xbox 360 connected to this TV, and I've never experienced any problems whatsoever. To this day, the picture is extremely clear, the colors are bright, and the sound is good.

br /The component input allows for progressive scan (480p) output. My Xbox 360 looks amazing on this TV. Even games with notoriously hard to read text, like Dead Rising, are crystal clear.

br /I love this TV. But it's time for me to upgrade to HD. The reason I looked it up on Amazon is because I'm selling it, and I want to get the model number to see if I could find the owner's manual online for the new owner. I was really shocked to see so many 1 star reviews about blown fuses. All I can say is that in 5 years, this has been the best TV I've ever owned.
Same story - Blown Fuse February 10, 2008 M. Serber (Dallas) Same as everyone else. I've had the TV for about 2 1/2 years and I'm about to replace the fuse for the 4th time. The 4 pack only cost about $2.50, it's just getting annoying having to replace it. I won't buy a Philips product again.
5 AMP, 250 VOLT, SLOW BLOW FUSES IS THE CURE. 27PT6441/37 February 1, 2008 TED HARKINS 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this TV on craigslist for $85.00 The guy I bought this from read all your reviews, and I did not. If it wasn't for the beautiful picture, this thing would of been sitting on the sidewalk for someone to haul away. So I read all your ideas, and this IS WHAT WORKS..... you need a T10 torx screwdriver, rubber surgical gloves, wear rubber soled shoes. Go to Radio Shack, purchase a 4 pack of 5 amp, 250 volt, slow blow fuses, part 270-1067 for $2.99, $3.24 with tax. There are 9 screws, with one hiding among all the imputs on the bottom back. Take some pillows outside and carry the monstrosity {100 lbs} outside, lay it screen side down on the pillows. The back slides right off, the fuse is at the end of the power cord, it pops straight out, not up nor down, put it pulls out forward. You have your gloves on, just use your hands. Pop the new one in, either way, does not matter. Slide it back straight on ,fit it in the groves {look first} screw it back together. Then grab a cold one, shake your head, and watch TV. I am sure I will do this again, I am afraid I will need 9 more screws that will hold up from all the use, and I have 3 more fuses left !! Love my wife and she loves the picture. Leave Phillips alone, they seem to be just frustrating you all. The sweatshop provided the 8 year olds with 4 amp fuses, not 5 amp. AND THAT IS WHERE THE ANSWER IS, THE 5 AMP FUSE. Love your spouse and deal with it. hope this helps. Ted
